Drinking Water

It is critical to this diet to drink 64 oz or 1/2 gallon (or 8 - 8 oz glasses) of water each day and will help with your successful weight loss. Fill a pitcher of water with 2 quarts each morning and add a cut up lemon for a healthy flavor. Chill in the fridge and make sure you drink the entire pitcher throughout the day.

If you prefer bottled water, setting out 4 - 16 oz bottles  on the counter each morning will remind you to keep drinking them until gone.  Add an extra bottle for 5 to give yourself a little extra. Woodman’s has a great deal on 24 packs of Niagara water of 2/$5.00 and it tastes great.

1Body4Sixty – Day 2

Peggy – 219 lbs (0.0)

Hello! This is the second of the first two days in which 1Body4Life Medical Center asks you to ‘pig out’ and eat all the sugar and carbs you want. Both yesterday and today, I estimate that I ate 3,500 calories per day!! I come from a large family of big eaters, so it comes naturally.

Breakfast was four (yes four) pieces of French toast with syrup & butter. Lunch was red beans and rice and dinner was the other half (yes, half) of the large cheese, sausage and pepperoni pizza that I had for last night’s dinner. I also snacked on a couple of candy bars!!

I still awoke 4 or 5 times during the night, as usual. Amazingly I still weighed the same 219 lbs. upon arising this morning. I had thought that I would surely weigh 225 lbs. after eating all the food that I ate yesterday!

Okay, okay, I know that the fun is over and the work starts tomorrow! I have 38 more days of 1Body4Life Medical Center’s HCG diet. I know I can do this! It has taken several years to gain eighty extra pounds, so forty days should be a piece of cake. (Perhaps that was the wrong metaphor to use!)

After my thirties, my serious weigh issues began. An early menopause at age 45 packed on 25 lbs. (And they say there is no connection between the two!) Then the first time I quit smoking, I gained another 25 lbs. I went eight months without smoking and really didn’t desire to smoke, however, I began again to combat the continual weight gain. Then three years ago, I quit again and, well…..more weight. However, I choose to remain smoke free!

Yes, it is true that I am not very physically active. The good news, no, the great news is that 1Body4Life Medical Center’s HCG diet does not require physical exertion!!! So moving forward, the challenge continues!

1Body4Forty - Day 2

Amy - 172.3 (0.0)

Even after everything I ate yesterday my weight did not go up. Yet I feel stuffed. Too much food!

For the record, as a matter of routine, I will be taking two types of probiotics each morning an hour before eating or drinking anything else and injecting my 20 units of HCG & B12 with a small insulin syringe around 7:30 am.  For each lunch and dinner, I will also be taking 3 capsules of "Alpha Base" multivitamin.  Supplements ensure that we are maintaining proper nutrition during the 40 days of a "VLCD" or "Very Low Calorie Diet".

This morning I had biscuits & gravy, eggs and hash browns. Something I love, but rarely eat because it's just too decadent.  Leftover deep dish pizza for lunch was a treat even for the 2nd day. As my last hurrah for the next 38 days, going out to dinner seemed appropriate. Needing to load up on calories this last day, we had appetizers of fried mushrooms, cheese sticks & onion straws, followed by a french dip with garlic fries, coleslaw and a couple of glasses of wine.  I'll admit I was so stuffed that I had to take half the sandwich and most of the fries home.  It was just too much food.  Hopefully all this food, however, will ensure that I get through the 3rd and 4th days without feeling as though I am starving. During my first round,  I see now that I did not properly load up on calories because the first two days of the 500 calorie diet were the hardest and I felt like I was starving the entire time.

I feel like I've eaten so much food over the past two days that I am actually looking forward to the 500 calorie diet.  Each day we will be allowed 2 proteins (about 3.5 oz of meat like organic chicken, certain fishes, and very lean beef, or 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, or eggs (1 yolk & 3 eggs whites)), along with 2 vegetables (salad, tomatoes, celery, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, among others) and 2 fruits (an apple, orange, 1/2 grapefruiit, or strawberries).  It's hard to believe but on this diet, your body is releasing so much fat into your body to be used for food that you are not hungry.  This 500 calorie diet is really a sufficient amount food to eat each day.
