1Body4Sixty - Day 7

Peggy - 206 (-2.0; -13.0)

Yay! It is March, spring is around the corner and I will be bathing suit ready. The snow is melting off along with the pounds on me! One week, thirteen pounds gone! Only three more weeks. I weighted in at 206 lbs. today!!! I slept nine hours and was up five times during the night.

My sister called and wanted to take me to breakfast! L I thought it would be better to not tempt me yet. It would have been difficult to sit across from her eating biscuits & gravy!!

Water consumption was half a gallon and three cups of flavored coffee with Stevia.

Lunch was ¼ lb. (4 oz.) ground lean beef w/spicy mustard and asaragus with lemon pepper seasoning.

An apple and an orange were my daily fruits.

Dinner was a ¼ lb. (4 oz.) sirloin and 2 cups of spinach with pepper and two small bread sticks.

Still have not had hunger pains!

1Body4Forty - Day 7

Amy – 165.2 (-0.0; 7.1 Total)

Well, we are finally at the end of the first week!  Unfortunately this morning, my weight is the same as yesterday and I think this ‘stall’ may be due to the hamburger patty I ate yesterday (and possibly the steak the day before that) since I think that red meat does not facilitate the weight loss as well as chicken or fish.  Also, I only had 2 out of my 4 bottles of water yesterday and not getting enough water makes a huge difference.

I started the day with a lunch of tilapia with blackened seasoning and cold asparagus from the can at 12:30 pm.  I opted to have my fruit at 3:45 to tide me over until dinner.

I don’t that we’ve mentioned this yet, but Peggy and I are good friends, so we thought we’d support each other in our weight loss by starting the HCG diet at the same time.  I spoke to Peggy shortly afterward and after a week of being very good and preparing our very austere meals at home, we decided that we felt cooped up and it was time to go out for dinner.  Eating out, when you have to be so careful about no added fats and sugars, dressings, etc., can be a challenge.  Especially in the climate of chain restaurants everywhere, but it can be done.  We decided on Lone Star which was actually my favorite, and easiest, place to eat out during the first round and even afterwards during maintenance.  It is easy to order a 7 oz steak there and a side of spinach or broccoli without butter, along with a tall glass of…. Sigh… unsweetened ice tea (don’t forget to bring your own stevia packets with you!)  (Sorry, the red wine is out of the question.)  The main thing you need to do when you receive your meal, however, is to cut the steak in half and take the other half home for another meal.  My favorite is the Delmonico steak sandwich (hold the bread, etc.!) and substitute a side of spinach, no butter. What ever you do, DON’T EAT THE ROLLS.  According to the wait staff, those yummy rolls are 200 calories a piece!  A no no even when you’re not dieting.

Another place that’s ok is Red Robin with their chicken sandwich (again hold the bread) cooked with no oil and a side salad with a few wedges of lemon for dressing.

If you have any other great restaurant suggestions, please let us (and everyone else know!)  It’s nice to feel that you’re not trapped at home for 40 days.
