Peggy - 219 lbs (Starting Weight)
Today I started the HCG diet with 1Body4Life
Medical Center. At sixty-two years old, I realized that it was time to do
something about my weight when I was told that I should go on statins for my
cholesterol and lose at least 25 lbs. because I was borderline diabetic.
(Should be spelled die-abetic!)
There were other signs, such as my knees bothering
me especially when I went up or down stairs, buying larger and larger sized
clothing, sleep apnea (waking 5 & 6 times during the night so that I could
not get a decent night’s sleep), general fatigue and lost of energy from
carrying all this weight around.
A good friend has just completed a six week round
of HCG at 1Body4Life Medical Center and she lost 25 lbs.! She is my
inspiration to begin my six weeks journey. There is not a diet that over the
years I have not tried. I hope that you will follow along and encourage my
progress. You are now my cheering gallery! I pledge to be totally honest with
you about what I am eating, if a have a lapse (cheat) and all other
information.
At 1Body4Life Medical Center, the HCG is
administered by injection. I have had a life long phobia about injections,
needles in particular. There is no way to describe the fear that I had. However,
with a very patient nurse at 1Body4Life Medical Center, not only was I
able to overcome my fear of needles, but I self injected the HCG! The syringes
are very small with the tiniest of needles (approximately ¼”) and, yes, it is
true, you do not feel them!!!! I was surprised and amazed.
The very worst of the initiation was the weighing
and measuring at 1Body4Life Medical Center! Okay, I will share the ugly
details with you: At 5’4” tall and 219 lbs. I have BMI of 38 which is 45% body
fat!! The only thing good was that my blood pressure was a respectable 108/62!
The rest of the measurements were: Chest – 49.5”, Waist (hard to find) 42.5”,
Hips 50”, Thigh (R) 26.5” & (L) 25.5” (who would have thought your thighs
could be a whole inch different!), upper arm 13”, neck 16.5”. The nurse also
measured my ankles (9.5”), but the heavy women in our family (all of them) have
always had very small ankles. My brothers have always joked that it was a
miracle that those little ankles could hold up our bodies!
The first couple of days on HCG are the best! You
are told to pig out, eat whatever, whenever you want!! Carb and sugar it up!
Apparently, by getting your fill of carbs, it helps jump start the HCG diet. So
as far as my menu today, I will suffice to say that breakfast consisted of 4
pcs. of French toast, ham, coffee and milk. I am considering pasta for lunch
and perhaps a pizza (stuffed, of course) for dinner! I will absolutely indulge
in desserts both meals.
